Keeping your camera working at its best means keeping it clean and calibrated. Over time, dirt and metal shavings from lens changes get into the camera body and start to affect performance. Static electricity can also build up within the shutter mechanism which attracts more dust onto the CCD.
Using our modern cleanroom facility and ionising, anti-static air guns, we can ensure that the CCD and Mirrorbox are completely cleaned and static-free. Helping to keep your camera cleaner for longer.
Our quotes for cleaning and servicing your camera will include any minor parts required and include VAT. We can clean and repair digital cameras from all the leading brands, including Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax, Olympus and Panasonic.
The cleanroom at 1st Aid Repairs is essential to making sure our repairs are high quality and long-lasting. We believe that investments in repair technologies like the cleanroom set us apart from other repairers. Using these technologies, we are able to strip and clean devices and lenses to the highest degree possible.
When your camera, lens, laptop, flashgun or other device was originally assembled, all or part of it was assembled in a cleanroom. Cleanrooms are designed to maintain extremely low levels of dust and other particles that could get into electronics or stuck to the inside of camera lenses and screens.
At 1st Aid Repairs, we believe that when cleaning and reassembling those electronics, we should try to recreate that cleanroom process and that it is vital to its continued, fault-free operation.
We have invested in Laminar Flow technology, which uses HEPA filtered air to pressurise a clean working chamber. The higher pressure air ensures that no dust or particles can be drawn into the cabinet; ensuring that the interior of your device is kept as clean and dust-free as possible.
Our ionising, anti-static air guns at 1st Aid Repairs are another investment in improving the repair process. We believe that investments in repair technologies like these set us apart from other repairers. Using these technologies, we are able to strip and clean devices and lenses to the highest degree possible.
Static electricity buildup can happen within any electronic device. Cameras gradually build charges during lens changes and shutter operation. Static electricity is also transferred to devices during handling – caused by everyday actions like walking across certain floor types or constantly getting up from a chair.
While this buildup doesn’t have a big impact on the operation of a well-sealed device, any sources of static must be eliminated during their manufacture. SLR and DSLR cameras also gradually attract dust to the charged shutter and mirror mechanism during use.
As well as the cleanroom above, at 1st Aid Repairs we have invested in ionising air guns. The ionisation process dissipates the static charge on all parts of the device, further reducing the chance of dust and particles in the air settling in places that can’t be cleaned.
We believe that by reducing static in the device during reassembly, we reduce the level of dust inside, and reduce the risk of dust entering it in the future and that it is vital to its continued, fault-free operation. We have also found that there has been a reduction in how often customers cameras need cleaning since we started using this technology.
